Cabin Falls Eco-Lodge Writing Retreat

WHAT: An intimate, personalized writing retreat in a remote, stunningly beautiful location lead by expert writing and wilderness guides.

WHEN: September 12 -17, 2024; (six days, five nights).

ACCOMMODATION:  Cabin Falls Eco-Lodge offers luxury wilderness accommodation including morning coffee delivered to your cabin, freshly prepared meals adapted for dietary restrictions, a natural infinity pool, and a wood-fired sauna.

WHERE: The lodge is located in Lady Evelyn-Smoothwater Provincial Park, a remote wilderness area in northeastern Ontario, Canada. The park features pristine old growth red and white pine forest, seven waterfalls, hidden lakes, and rugged topography including the oldest exposed rocks on earth. The vistas are expansive.

FACILITATORS:
Mar’ce Merrell: Mar’ce  Merrell is a fiction and nonfiction author. Her  novel, Wicked Sweet (MacMillan), was a Barnes & Noble best summer read pick for young adults. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Sierra Nevada College. A resident of Alberta, Canada, she hosts online writing groups called  “Writing Nests.”

 

Andrea Wilson: An expert kayaker, canoer, and wildlife adventurer, Andrea Wilson has been guiding retreats since 1989. She is vice-chair of Earthroots, a grassroots environmental organization dedicated to the protection of Ontario’s wilderness, wildlife, and watersheds.

Hap Wilson: An award-winning artist and photographer, Hap Wilson is the author of 14 books. He has worked as a Park Ranger and has taught wilderness skills for Outward Bound. Co-founder of the environment group Earthroots, Hap is an International Fellow of the Explorer’s Club and the Royal Canadian Geographical Society.

GETTING THERE: Float plane fly-in to Katherine Lake, followed by a short guided canoe paddle with your guides.

COST:  $2945 Canadian or $2135 US until August 10. After August 10:  $3145 Canadian or $2275 US Deposit of $750.00 due at time of booking.
