2018 Barthelme Prize for Short Prose

This contest will be judged by Laura van den Berg.
Submit a prose poem, a piece of flash fiction, or a micro-essay of up to 500 words. Each entry can include up to 3 pieces.
Each entry is $18, which includes a yearlong subscription to Gulf Coast.
Only previously unpublished work will be considered. The contest will be judged blindly, so please do not include your cover letter, your name, or any contact information in the uploaded document. This information should only be pasted in the “Comments” field.
Honorable mentions will each receive $250. All entries will be considered for publication.

Poetry & Prose Awards
Two prizes of $1,000 each and publication in Fairy Tale Review are given annually for a group of poems and a work of fiction or creative nonfiction influenced by fairy tales. Aimee Nezhukumatathil will judge in poetry and Helen Oyeyemi will judge in prose. Submit up to five poems totaling no more than 10 pages or up to 6,000 words of fiction or nonfiction with a $10 entry fee by July 15. All entries are considered for publication.
